Parodia chrysacanthion JL 281 , Volcan 2050m, Jujuy, Argentine
is a beautiful cactus from Argentina, is a globular or columnar, with a green stem densely covered with bristle-like, golden spines. Clusters of large shiny yellow flowers in spring! Pure gold!
Water these plants with a low nitrogen fertiliser every 6 to 8 weeks, from mid-spring to late summer. This plant should remain rather dry , except for a periodic misting on warmer days in late winter. If it is kept absolutely dry for a long period, it tends to lose its roots in winter. It can tolerate light frost (- 4C°), but rots easily if wet and cold.
It prefers a full sun position and possibly afternoon shade in summer, good drainage and very a porous potting mix.
We use pure mineral substrate (Lechuza Pon) which we recommend.
You will receive a bare root plant- it is a safe way to transport cacti.
Approximate size: 2.5 cmØ
Please note, it is the last of the bunch, slightly smaller and already discounted!
